Last February 7th, the world celebrated the bicentenary of Charles Dickens's birth. Charles Dickens (1812-1870) is considered one of the best writers in the English Literature. His works, most of them so well-known as David Copperfield, Little Dorrit, Hard Times, The Tale of Two Cities, A Christmas Carol and Oliver Twist,, are a portrait of the difficulties and hard conditions of the working classes in Victorian times.
To commemorate this date, our school displayed 3 videos showing some aspects of his life, wonderful movie versions from his works and part of the musical Oliver. Some of his books in English and Spanish were also on display.
O pasado 7 de febreiro celebrouse o bicentenario do nacemento de Charles Dickens (1812-1870), considerado un dos mellores escritores da Literatura en Lingua Inglesa. As súas obras, tan coñecidas como David Copperfield, A Pequena Dorrit, Tempos difíciles, Historia de Dúas Cidades, Conto de Nadal e Oliver Twist, representan as condicións tan duras e difíciles nas que vivían as clases traballadoras da época Victoriana.
Co gallo deste día, o instituto proxectou 3 video clips que amosaban datos da súa vida, versións cinematográficas das súas obras e parte do musical Oliver. Tamén houbo unha mostra das súas obras.
